This movement involves westernization in social, political and economical areas as well as music. To adapt western musical system, first to the military and the court, each ruling Sultan employed suggested western musicians in their court to teach European music. In this way, western music was learned by the Ottoman Sultans, military band, and court people, was performed in the Ottoman lands in European standards and actuality, and Turkish musicians were raised by those European teachers. This research covers two Italian musicians, Giuseppe Donizetti and Callisto Guatelli, who lived in the Ottoman Empire lands, worked for the Ottoman courts and raised up musicians during 19th century, some of the works that they devoted to the Sultans and the analysis of those works.
