This article briefly reviews the concepts of Earned Value Management (EVM) and highlightsfour approaches for its use in agile software projects. Thus, this article is characterized as aexploratory research and maintains analytical character, temporal, of update, andbibliographic. After the presentation of the four approaches, a comparison is made betweenthem, indicating the central features, strengths and perceived limitations. The paper reports aconcern in adapting the concepts of EVM to the characteristics of agile software projects, soenjoy the benefits of the technique. At the same time, there is the need for additionalexperiences for the maturing and expanding the application of EVM in agile projects
