INCIDêNCIA E DISTRIBUI O DA TUBERCULOSE NA CIDADE DE MANAUS/AM, BRASIL / INCIDENCE AND DISTRIBUTION THE TUBERCULOSIS IN MANAUS/AM, BRAZIL

The bacillus Mycobacterium tuberculosis is present in several countries, mainly in the emergent ones, infecting a large number of people and submitting many others to risk. The accentuated recent urbanization process in Brazil has contributed to dissemination and proliferation of several diseases including tuberculosis. This illness is a typical harm in cities that didn`theaded the vertiginous growth population, presenting basic health care decadence or idle. The objectives of this research where: analysis of incidence level of tuberculosis in Manaus identify the social and urban conditions that promote the dissemination of this illness in the city and; map the spatial distribution of tuberculosis in town. Therefore historical-geographical studies took place in Manaus city, starting with bibliographic research and analysis of medical data (2006 and 2007) of municipal health department, epidemiology and environment directory. Comparative analysis between tuberculosis data and human development rank (HDR) have been made. Manaus is one of the municipalities in the Amazonas State with highest level of all types of tuberculosis, that means 1471 registered cases in the year 2006 and 1527 cases for the year 2007.
