Talón cuspídeo: reporte de cinco casos Talon cusp: a report of five cases

En este artículo se hace una revisión de la literatura y se reportan cinco casos de talón cuspídeo en los que se pueden observar diferentes expresiones morfológicas del mismo. Así mismo se pone en evidencia el desafío funcional y estético que representa el manejo clínico de este rasgo morfológico dental y las opciones terapéuticas más conservadoras. Adicionalmente se resalta la importancia del manejo interdisciplinario de estos rasgos morfológicos dentro del contexto de la odontología, la antropología y la odontología forense dada su frecuencia y variabilidad. The purpose of this article is to review the literature and report five cases in which different morphological expressions are observed. Also, it approaches the esthetical and functional challenges that these cases represent for the clinical management of this dental morphological dental trait, and the most conservative treatment options. Additionally, it emphasizes the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to treatment of these morphological traits within the context of dentistry, anthropology and forensic dentistry, considering its frequency and variability.
