O nominalismo em HobbesKeywords: Hobbes , Nominalism Abstract: From an outlet of the main motivations of the emergence and development of the resolutive-compositional method that structures the Hobbesian thought, we conduct an analitical attempt to demonstrate the primacy of the “nominalist element” in the works of Hobbes. With this, we seek to show that the search for certainty of Hobbes is based on the radicalization of uncertainty, or rather the recollection of Reason to their proper objects. We properly treat the elective affinities or analogies – not membership – between Abelard and Ockham. We do a kind of opposition between the nominalism philosophy subjacent to the philosophy of language of Hobbes and to the nominalism of Abelard and Ockham. We also review some of the peculiarities of Hobbes’s thought that gained oriented the atribution of the title of ultranominalist by Leibniz. We seek to explore the centrality of the nominal element for the entire development of the Hobbesian philosophy. Nominalism appears, then, as a true Archimedean point of this accursed thought. It is a must, therefore, to investigate what sort of nominalism i present in Hobbes. This can only be done by the examination of the apparent contradictions between materialism and moral dogmatism on one hand, and nominalism on another. Fundamentally, Hobbes is analised under the sign of the will of realism.
