THE IDENTIFICATION OF MICROBIOTA WITH DETERIORATIVE ACTION ON SOME HISTORICAL SILK MATERIALS

The aim of this study was to provide information on the degradation process induced by microorganisms’ action on some historical silk materials. It was analyzed historical silk samples and was isolated in pure culture 10 strains of microorganisms, belonging to bacteria and actinomycetes (Bacillus, Clostridium, Sarcina and Streptomyces genera).
