Effect on nerve structures of functionalized gold-chitosan nanoparticles obtained by one pot synthesis

Gold nanoparticles have potential applications in drug delivery, cancer diagnosis and therapy, food industry and environment remediation. However, little is known about their potential toxicity or fate in the environment. In this study we observed significant effects of functionalized gold-chitosan nanoparticles obtained by one pot synthesis on nerve structures of Wistar rats.
