El archivo positivista como dispositivo visual-verbal: Fotografía, feminidad anómala y fabulación

En este trabajo se analiza el archivo como dispositivo visual y verbal, en el contexto del paradigma fuertemente hegemónico del positivismo argentino de comienzos del siglo XX. A través de los artículos que Francisco de Veyga publica entre 1902-1904 en los Archivos de Psiquiatría y Criminología acerca de sexualidades consideradas anómalas y las fotografías que ilustran estos "casos", se indaga sobre algunas de las operaciones discursivas y no discursivas que el archivo -como un aparato psíquico de cuerpo social que se considera patógeno- presenta sobre el género, la "feminidad anómala", la fotografía y la clasificación médico-psiquiátrica. Esta última se articula a partir de los ejes binarios normal/patológico, pero también presenta resistencias vitales dentro del panóptico biopolítico y dentro de la lógica de generalización del archivo, a través de la fabulación y la mirada del otro. We analyze in this paper the archive as visual and verbal device, in the contexts of a strongly hegemonic paradigm of the Argentinean positivism of the beginning of the XX century. Through the articles that Francisco de Veyga published, between 1902-1904 in the Archivos de Psiquiatría y Criminología, about sexualities that are considered anomalous and the photographs that illustrate those cases, we explore some of the discursive and non-discursive operations that the archive, -as a psychic apparatus of the social body considered pathological- presents about gender, feminity, photography and the medical-psychiatrical classification. This last one is articulated from the binary axes normal/pathological, but it presents vital resistances in the biopolitical panoptic and in the repetition logic of the archive through fabulation and the other gaze.
