Gest o democrática das águas: o caso da microbacia do rio Cachoeira, Antonina - PR. (Democratic management of the waters: the Cachoeira River basin case in Antonina - PR.)

Resumo: Desenvolve o artigo apresenta o acerca da gest o de recursos hídricos na microbacia do Rio Cachoeira, Antonina - PR (Bacia Hidrográfica Litoranea do Estado do Paraná), com foco na infl uência da atividade de gera o hidrelétrica na intera o entre os sujeitos envolvidos nesta problemática. A base de análise dirigese para a constata o de efeitos sociais e ambientais decorrentes dessa atividade, mediante uma prévia descri o das características da bacia e da usina hidrelétrica situada em seus limites, passando-se a uma discuss o acerca de seus principais efeitos ambientais e sociais, confrontando, ao final, a hipótese levantada no artigo e esmiu ada ao longo do trabalho. Abstract: This article introduces a study about the water resources management in the Cachoeira River basin in Antonina - PR (Paraná State Coastal River Basin), focusing on the infl uence of the activities regarding the generation of hydroelectric power on the relationship between the social actors involved on the issue. The analysis aims at identifying the social and environmental effects of this activity by presenting a description of the characteristics of the river basin and of the hydroelectric power station established in its limits, while also promoting a discussion about its environmental and social effects and confronting the hypothesis posed and detailed throughout the article in its conclusion.
