Pathology of Using Information and Communication Technology among University Students

The purpose of the research was to study the pathology of using information and communication technology among university students. From among the statistical population of the research including all Mazandaran province university students, 345 were selected as the sample of the research using simple random sampling method. The research instruments were SMS addiction and social anxiety questionnaires.Both descriptive and inferential statistical methods were used to analyze the data. The results showed that the students were addicted to SMS and suffered from social anxiety. There was significant relationship between SMS addiction and social anxiety among students. Also, there was a significant difference in the rate of SMS addiction among the different educational groups of students.
