Validitatea concurent a unei probe care evalueaz dezirabilitatea social - DS10Keywords: social desirability , experts’ test , concurrent validity , factorial analysis Abstract: The objective of the research was to validate and improve a scale of measuring the social desirability which contains three factors described in the scientific literature: impression management, self deception and utility (Paulhus, 1984; Beauvois, 2003). Firstly, we analyzed the initial scale of 126 items, testing content validity and selecting 15 items per factor using the expert’s test. In testing the concurrent validity of the DS10 Scale we used two scales: BIDR (Paulhus, 1988) and the Crowne-Marlowe Scale (1964 apud Tatman, 2009). We also tested the internal consistency and the three dimenssional structure. The results stand for a solid scale, cosidering both concurrent validity and internal consistency, with a stable and well-defined factorial structure, including the three envisaged factors: impression management, self deception and utility.
