Why Psychiatrists Are Not Interested and Why They Should Be Interested in Mental Health

Mental pathology is the primary focus of psychiatrists’ attention. Yet it is difficult to get a better understanding of mental disorders without knowing what mental health is, what its manifestation are, how it can be defined and recognized. Hence, psychiatrists should be more interested in mental health. So long as they ignore the relevance of mental health to psychiatry, they cannot acquire knowledge about it, and consequently they cannot be competent to provide proper assistance to those in need.
