Perspective developments on marine fouling controlKeywords: marine fouling , spraying , plasma coating , anti-fouling properties , bactericidal elements. Abstract: Investigation results on the efficiency estimation of the application in the shipbuilding the technologies of plasma coatings possessing anti-fouling properties at the introduction of bactericidal elements into their structure are shown in the paper. The most effective structure of the coating containing 80 % of nitinol coatings, 19.2 % of copper and 0.8 % of beryllium is selected on the basis of laboratory tests on leaching of nitinol (55 % Ni + 45 % Ti) with copper additives (20÷30) %, antimony (5÷10) % and cadmium (1÷3) %. By means of testbed trials in the Caspian and Black Sea it is established that these coatings are rather resistant against fouling, and they can be offered as effective means for ship hulls protection and immersed metallic structures from marine fouling.
