Between Lom, Archar and Vitbol (1932) [In Bulgarian]Keywords: Kanitz , Danubian Bulgaria and the Balkans , Belogradchik Abstract: This is a chapter of the first Bulgarian edition (1932) of the famous Felix Kanitz’s book “Donau-Bulgarien und der Balkan.” Felix Kanitz (1829-1904) was an Austro-Hungarian traveler, naturalist, geographer, ethnographer and archeologist. His travel in Bulgaria continued 16 years. Kanitz is regarded as one of the first profound ethnographers of the South Slavs. As such, he has earned great respect particularly in modern Serbia and Bulgaria. The present article gives full information about the visit of Kanitz in Skomlya, Ratsiaria (Archar), Rabisha, Vitbol and other villages.
