FRANCIS BACON: SUBJECTIVE DESTITUTION AND THE FORMALIZATION OF THE ARTWORK

This text discusses a potential approach between the subjectivation processes that, according to Bacon, support the formalization of his works and those that Lacan describes as inherent to the analytical act: subjective destitution, its relation with anguish and fantasy. It seems to us that proposing a homology between these processes may be a productive path for the apprehension of what Bacon’s work may bring as a contribution to psychoanalytic reflection.
