Modificación de conocimientos sobre el virus de la inmunodeficiencia humana en la Atención Primaria de Salud Modification to knowledge of the human immunodeficiency virus in Primary Health Care

Se realizó una intervención educativa en 150 trabajadores (médicos, enfermeras y estudiantes) pertenecientes al Policlínico Universitario "José Martí Pérez" de Santiago de Cuba, desde mayo hasta diciembre de 2010, a fin de modificar sus conocimientos sobre virus de la inmunodeficiencia humana y sida. Se aplicó la prueba de McNemar y se utilizó el porcentaje como medida de resumen. Las acciones educativas fueron muy eficaces, pues se logró elevar el nivel de conocimientos sobre el tema, por lo cual se recomienda extrapolar este programa a otras áreas de salud del territorio. An educational intervention was carried out in 150 workers (doctors, nurses and students) belonging to "José Martí Pérez" University Polyclinic in Santiago de Cuba, from May to December, 2010, in order to modify their knowledge on HIV/aids. McNemar test was applied and the percentage was used as summary measure. The educational actions were very effective, because it was possible to elevate the level of knowledge on the topic, reason why it is recommended to extrapolate this program to other health areas of the territory.
