FACTORIAL ANALYSES OF THE VOCATIONAL APTITUDES AND SELF-INTERESTS SCALEKeywords: Vocational interests , attitudes , factorial analysis Abstract: Eysenck’s proposal of an organizational hierarchy for attitudes (the existence of a fourth level ofabstraction in which the simple attitude elements are grouped) can be applied to the field of vocationalinterests. In order to verify the existence of this relationship, the results obtained from the administration ofthe Subjective Scale of Vocational Interests and Attitudes (ESIAV) to a sample of 162 university students wereused. The 22 vocational areas proportioned by the ESIAV were examined by means of a main componentfactorial analysis, obtaining the following five components: Science, Organizational management, Creativeexpression, Community Service, and Spacial Calculus. The vocational interest structuring in high attitudecomponents is therefore supported.
