SAMPLE-COMPARATIVE PARTIAL AND TOTAL REVERSALS IN MATCHING-TO-SAMPLE WITH DIFFERENTIAL AND NO DIFFERENTIAL OUTCOMESKeywords: Conditional discrimination , differential outcomes effect , partial and total reversal Abstract: The effects of partial and total reversals of the sample-comparative contingency were evaluated in an matching-tosampletask with differential and non-differential consequences. Four groups of ten students each were constituted, two of them were trained in a matching-to-sample procedure with non-differential consequences, while the other twogroups were trained with differential consequences. After the training phase, the sample-comparative contingencyrelations were totally changed to one group of non-differential consequences and one group of differential consequences, while just one of the sample-comparative relation was changed to the other two groups. During the trainingphase it was observed that the groups trained with differential consequences obtained higher percentages of correctresponses that the groups trained with non-differential consequences. During the reversion phase it was observed thatin the four groups there was a reduction in the percentage of correct responses, being bigger in the groups trained withnon differential outcomes.
