LONG LATENCE HEARING EVOKED POTENTIALS: IN RELATION WITH INFORMATION PROCESSKeywords: ERP , sensory discrimination , motor response , EMG Abstract: Differencing between strictly sequential and parallel models has a great importance in today’spsicophysiological investigation. Most of the studies realized with endogenous evoked potentials assume the basicmodel of Mental Chronometry paradigm, which states two alternatives concerning human informationprocessing: the serial model and the cascade or parallel model. ERP research accept the former as a referenceuntil the arrival of new theoretical considerations. Nevertheless, several authors have presented new contributionsquestioning this model; among them it is necessary to remark those who compare some components ofthe Evoked Potential elicited during sensory discrimination tasks, requiring or not motor response (Go-NoGo).
