A Lower Bound for the Diaphony of Generalised van der Corput Sequences in Arbitrary Base $b$

The diaphony is a common measure for uniformity of a given infinite sequence. We discuss a method of Faure which he used to obtain an upper bound for the diaphony of generalised van der Corput sequences in arbitrary base $b$. We extend this method to derive a lower bound as well as a criterion to decide whether two sequences have the same distribution behaviour.
