On the Variances of the Sample Maximum of Order Statistics from A Discrete Uniform Distribution

In this study, formulae for the moments of the sample maximum of order statistics from a discrete uniform distribution are presented in closed form. Illustrative example of the variances of the sample maximum of order statistics from a discrete uniform distribution is given. The current study obtains algebraic expressions for n up to 20 for the variances of the sample maximum of order statistics from a discrete uniform distribution. Using the obtained algebraic expressions, anyone can compute these variances based on the N and n values. Further studies may focus on a software program estimating these variances found in this study.
