Smart Phone Based Internet Connectivity to Educational Institutions: Context Digital Bangladesh

Education is considered as the single most powerful tool to promote social and economic development, and becomes the primary focus of the recently formed ICT for Development (ICT4D) to communities, especially in the Least Developed Countries. The aim of the paper is to propose a technique to use ICT for all peoples at very low cost using Smart phone for E-education to build up digital Bangladesh. The ICT is a powerful tool for advancing education, and the challenge is to turn the potential of ICT for Education (ICTE). The ICT ensures increased access to, and improve the relevance and quality of education and gives students and teachers new tools to learn and teach. It is now possible to impart education using videoconferencing, teleconferencing and distance learning using ICT (the e-Learning). Thus, the educators and learners are no longer solely dependent on physical media such as printed textbooks. In this paper, attempts are made to explore the deployment strategy of the WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability of Microwave Access) network with integration of Smart phone to interconnect all the educational institutions (EIs) with WiMAX broadband Internet connection to ensure quality of education in Bangladesh. A country having limited resources will find it difficult to establish E-education due to high price of ICT devices such as computer, video camera etc. M-learning smart phone only send message service and it cannot be used to transmit video signal for e-learning. Traditional computer based 3G, 4G technology cannot use due to high cost. To make educational for all by e-learning the authors propose WiMAX technology for multiplexing video signal through wireless channel using smart phone at very low cost.
