Emine Semiye and Nigar Han m are well-known women for their works, ideas and lives in Ottoman woman movement. The letters, written among themselves in 1896-1897 throw fresh light not only on their autobiographies but also the subject of Ottoman woman movement. The parts of the letter written by Emine Semiye concerning her impressions during her voyage to Selanik and at leat Selanik itself have nearly the characteristics of travel book. These works, written in terms of woman's eyes are important for being one of the first examples in our literature.
