Structuralism, which was one of the most popular literary theories of the 20th century, has captured attention by focusing on the work itself and by trying to expose the inner harmony within the frame of form-phoneme-word-meaning entirety.As known, divan poets are compelled to display their verbal skills around the certain limited number of patterns and rules of the classical Turkish tradition of poetry. To examine and evaluate divan poetry, it seems appropriate to apply the structuralist method which adopts the linguistic method itself.
