Regardless of the incessant debates on the question of “Whetherthere is a Woman s Literature or not?” within the literary circles, womanwriters are continuing to produce pieces of art within every genre ofliterature. One of these genres is detective fiction. In this present paper,the writer aims at investigating the formats of the man – womandiscourse in detective fiction and whilst doing this aims at exposing thedifferent ways the male writer and the female writer chooses forfictionalizing the crime and the value the fictional characters theycreated stands for the man – woman discourse. The method adopted isto take up main debates on the man – woman discourse to compare thetwo novels in their context and to draw general conclusions under eachdebate. The novels are approached both technically and content-wise.In the conclusion part, the deductions regarding the whole paper arestated.
