The purpose of this text is to provide a discussion of the concepts of punishment in the utilitarian theory, highlighting the possibility that innocent people are qualified as disposable or serve as a means to social interests. The text analyzes addition, the Hart’s theory of utilitarian concept of punishment and justification for punishment, broadening the debate to the principles of justice of Rawls.
