El presente texto indaga algunos usos del concepto de experiencia en los estudios históricos, concentrándose en discusiones en torno a sus alcances producidas durante el período comprendido entre el auge de la historia social y su paulatino recambio por la denominada "nueva historia cultural." Así, se examinan las diversas concepciones acerca de la experiencia en autores paradigmáticos como Raymond Williams, Edward Thompson, Gareth Stedman Jones y Joan Scott (todos ellos vinculados o influidos por la tradición marxista), intentando delimitar los principales rasgos de sus posiciones en torno a la utilidad del concepto para el análisis histórico y el lugar asignado al mismo en su propia producción, y contextualizando el momento historiográfico en que se vertieron tales propuestas. This text exams some uses of the experience concept within the historical studies focusing on arguments about their extents, during the period between the social history summit and their gradual change by the so called "new cultural history". Thus, different conceptions of experience are analysed; there are the cases of paradigmatic authors such as Raymond Williams, Edward Thompson, Gareth Stedman Jones and Joan Scott -all of them linked to or influenced by the Marxist tradition. It tries to outline their position main features related to the concept utility for the historical analysis, the place these authors give to the experience in their own work, and the historiographical context in which they made those propositions.
