AN ETYMOLOGICAL APROACH TO THE OLD UIGUR WORD “YALGUKK(I)YA” ESK UYGURCA YALGUKK(I)YA KEL MES NE ET MOLOJ K B R YAKLA IM

The aim of this study is to make on etymological analysis of the word yalgukk( )ya which is stated in a work of 11th century calledDa akarmapathaavadānamālā (DKPAM) which is written Old Uigur. This word is defined as Hapax legomenon (Hap.leg). Hapax legomenon is a Greek term which means the word being stated only ones in a document or in a literary studies. The word yalgukk( )ya, the subject of our analysis, is mentioned in the 13th and 15thlines on the front page of the document numbered mz. 766 which belongs to the Mainz collection of Berlin Brandenburg Academy of Sciences.
