Joaquín Costa has often been presented as a victim of his extraordinarily hostilecircumstances: a humble origin, a degenerative disease, academic rejection and political betrayals. Fromhis memories (2011) and other recent editions and studies we have access not only to the suffering writerbut also to the young person who sighs for being Minister, reaching a universal reputation and reformingpolitical life. The final aim of the work is to describe Costa’s ideology, which differs in his privateformulation from his public expression.
