Raíz mesoamericana: Octavio Paz, Efraín Huerta y Frida KahloKeywords: Mexican poetry , Frida Kahlo , Efraín Huerta , Octavio Paz , syncretism Abstract: Mesoamerican heritage is resilient in Mexican culture. Contemporary visual arts andpoetry are marked not only by their insertion in the avant-garde but also by an acute consciousness of theactuality and by the presence of their original past. This article reflects on the cultural bridges –offered byworks which are as much re-creations no less than a critical approach– based on the Mesoamericanideological constructions, and their manifestations (both archaeological and contemporary) through thecomparative study of Pre-Columbian images within Frida Kahlo’s painting as well as in the poetry ofEfraín Huerta and Octavio Paz.
