H tel Latone. La photographie en déplacement

(E): In 1982, Victor Burgin creates H tel Latone, a book with a complex, intermediary identity, between artist’s book and photo-novel. Furthermore, this piece refract Burgin’s contemporary writings on the status of photography in the collective imagination and the individual psyche. This article aims at examining the theoretical and practical issues raised by the psychoanalytical notion of displacement, which appears to be a leading force in the work and the thought of the artist, at that time. (F): Avec H tel Latone (1982), Victor Burgin con oit un livre à l’identité complexe, intermédiaire , entre le livre d’artiste et le roman-photo ; une uvre, par ailleurs, qui réfracte de manière exemplaire ses écrits contemporains sur le statut de la photographie dans son rapport à l’imaginaire collectif et à la psyché individuelle. Cet article entend déployer les implications théoriques et pratiques de la notion psychanalytique de déplacement, qui appara t comme l’une des forces motrices de l’ uvre et de la pensée de l’artiste, à cette époque.
