This investigation had as main purpose to present an introduction about the importance of the integration of the university processes and functions as a strategy to contribute to the balance between equity and quality of the institutions of the higher education. Ton accomplish this aim, it was applied a documental investigation with autonomous design. This investigation allowed to assure that the educative university effort is carried out where educative processes are held; which go though all the actions and spaces of the educative organization from the classroom to the institutional life. Itas also shown that the integration of the university processes and main functions may contribute to the balance between equity and quality of rhe institutions of the higher education. It as also shown that the formation of a continuous and permanent process should be considered as an integrating part of the educative process, which involves all the educators and it should reach all the people in all its aspects during a vital cicle. Finally, the profesional formation, the investigation, the postgraduate courses and outskirt activities should be valued as complementary and integrated processes, which set together to motivation ease the balance between equity and quality.
