Design and Implementation of a CDM-PI Controller for a Spherical Tank Level System

Nonlinear process control is a difficult task in process industries. The aim of this project is to control the water level of the spherical tank which is a nonlinear system. In this project a CDM based PI controller is designed and implemented in LabVIEW. The performance of the designed CDM-PI controller is verified in real time. Then the performance of CDM-PI controller is compared with the conventional PI controller. The result shows that, the CDM improves the performance of the controller based on set point tracking and load disturbance than conventional PI controller.
