THE INVESTIGATION: ITS ROLE IN THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND IN THE PROFESIONALIZATION OF THE UNIVERSITY PROFS / LA INVESTIGACIóN: SU ROL EN EL DESARROLLO PROFESIONAL Y LA PROFESIONALIZACIóN DEL PROFESORADO UNIVERSITARIO

The development of information and communication technologies eases the existence of the current conditions of the globalized world. It is more recognized than the society of information of knowledge is. It imposes the necessity of a new university with the mission of forming an integral man, able to be ahead in time or at least to be prepared for facing in a flexible and pertinent way the quick changes that happens in all ways of life, not only to understand it and to adapt it, but also to transforming it in favor of humanity. Then, the work of the university Profs get complex, this demands them a superior and quicker professional development. Although, the investigation reflected, at this level, an important work in the construction of the new culture, but only developed by an elite, present day tendencies express that this is the Profs' expedite way, of any educational level, to achieve their appropriate professionalization and consequently to be able to offer a professional acting with the quality that the moment demands for. In this work it is carried out a valuation of the role of the investigation in this process that allows acquiring consciousness through the reflection of the certainty of this statement.
