Protecting data integrity with chained rows and public key cryptography. Comments on a real case. Keywords: database , security , encription , data storage Abstract: Information stored in a database is vulnerable to disclosure and to manipulation. Protecting it can be achieved by encryption but the key-management problem is non-trivial. The paper presents data storage techniques used in a real case application which attempt to secure the information against attacks even when performed by powerful actors (DBA) having partial access to other sensitive roles.
