ARQUEOLOGíA HISTóRICA EN PENíNSULA VALDéS. PRIMEROS ABORDAJES HISTóRICOS Y ARQUEOLóGICOS AL FUERTE SAN JOSé (1779-1810)

From the transdisciplinary approach developed by the Historical Archaeology, we present the first results of research carried out in the Fuerte San José and Puesto de la Fuente archaeological sites (Península Valdés, Chubut). The recovered material culture and historical documents analyzed allow us to discuss and reflect on the traditional historiographical explanations and formulate new questions and visions geared to look into the everyday life of these settlements and the colonial process in Patagonia the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.
