ARQUEOLOGíA EN UNA HACIENDA DEL ALTIPLANO: EXPLORACIONES EN LA CAPILLA DE SIECHA, COLOMBIA

In architectural projects, either rehabilitation or restoration, there is no doubt that much of the information needed to propose and support an architectural design comes from information collected through archaeological explorations.The excavations at the Siecha’s Chapel, founded by the Association for the Protection of Cultural and Natural Heritage of Siecha, ASOSIECHA, not only offered information in this sense, besides it was an opportunity to clarify the uses of the architectural complex, with few documentary information, nearing an adjusted interpretation of the ruins and temple, and its relationship with the surrounding structures at the regional level.In this case the archaeological results expanded the possibilities for analysis, providing to the delicate process of building heritage in the surrounding communities of this Colombian National Monument.
