LA MATERIALIDAD DE LA HISTORIA: EL CASO DE LA CONSTRUCCIóN DEL CAMINO POR VILLAVIL A TUCUMAN EN EL SIGLO XIX (DEPARTAMENTO ANDALGALá, CATAMARCA)

Within the elaboration of the study of Archeological Impact of the detour of Villavil’s mineral pipeline of Minera Alumbrera Ltd. (Departamento Andalgalá, Catamarca), different type of architectural evidence was documented and registered. Gathering orally transmitted information from local inhabitants of Villavil and also from the analysis of historical sources regarding road construction, it is interpreted that material remains belong to a road built in the XIXth Century, to achieve communication between the cities of Andalgalá and Tucumán. The construction work was interrupted by a catastrophic flood of Villavil River, destroying mostly of the road and causing its relocation.
