Mecanismos celulares e moleculares envolvidos no processo de transi o dimórfica em fungos patogênicos humanosKeywords: Dimorphism , temperature , nutrients , pathogenic fungi , infectious diseases. Abstract: The fungi of medical importance in general may have different morphologies during its development. Thisphenomenon of morphological variation more important in medical mycology is dimorphism, which is characterized by areversible process. The fungal dimorphism is a characteristic that depends on temperature changes and /or nutrients. Thesefavor the installation of fungi and help to resist the aggression coming from the host. In Paracoccidioides brasiliensisdimorphism is not always dependent on temperature, as nutritional factors also interfere in these processes. Therefore, theaim of our study is to describe the cellular and molecular mechanisms involved and characterized as essential for thedimorphic transition occurs and contributes to the progression of the infection.
