Análise de uma tecnópole brasileira : o caso do complexo tecnológico-industrial-aeroespacial de S o José dos Campos

The main of this paper is to analyze the municipality of Sao Jose dos Campos, SP, Brazil, as a scientific-technological pole, providing the basis for the comprehension of the municipality in this context. Sao Jose dos Campos has changed from a sanatorial to industrial city and then to producer and diffuser of high technology for the aerospatial sector, since the end of the decade of 1940 s up to the end of the 1990 s. During this period, the decade of 1960 is notable because the City became a place for specialized production, based on a new productive logic which was founded in the exchange between educational and research institutions, and industries of high technology. It affirms the City as the centre of the Brazilian aerospatial technology in the decade of 1990 s.
