Centros históricos e turismo patrimonial : o pelourinho como exemplo de uma rela o contraditória

The relationship between tourism, heritage and territorial development is central in the field of contemporary urban planning. Analyzing the case of Salvador da Bahia, in particular, the Pelourinho, based on the Integrated Action Plan of the Historic Centre of Salvador, we discuss and highlight contradictory dimensions of this relationship. In particular, the analysis focuses on the confrontation between a targeted strategy for tourism and for external customers and a strategy that orients the city and its heritage towards its residents.
