Childhood and Poverty in Leon in the Modern Period: Institutional ResponsesKeywords: The objective of this work is to analyze the different kinds of assistance to the childhood poor and abandoned in Leon (Spain) during the Modern Age. We will study the evolution of the child′s image from the medieval conception , very influenced for the Christian thinking , to the utilitarian doctrine of the 18th century. Also , we will analyze the institutions of Leon that helped to the vulnerable children.
