COMMUNICATION, ENTERTAINMENT AND LEARNING: AN EXPLORATORY STUDY ABOUT THE USE OF TECHNOLOGIES BY TEENAGERS

This article aims to analyze the relations between a group of teenagers and the computer and investigate the role of this technology and the virtual universe in their lives. For this, the conducted study was based on qualitative and quantitative approach, using as a main instrument for data collection a questionnaire answered by 74 students aged between 14 and 16 years. From this, we identified that the computer is part of the daily lives of these people and they generally discriminate properly truth from fiction and recognize the benefits of interaction with the computer as provide access to updated information, communication facilitated and make possible to perform actions in virtual world that are impossible in real world.
