La sobrevivencia fetal en Cuba Fetal survival in Cuba

El presente trabajo aborda el estudio del embarazo como un proceso de cambio de estados con tres etapas básicas: entrada, permanencia y salida. Dicho proceso, se asimila a un estudio de sobrevivencia, en el cual la permanencia es idéntica a la función de sobrevivencia de la tabla de vida. En virtud de esa singular similitud, se realizaron estimaciones de los riesgos vitales (muerte fetal, nacido vivo), así como de la función de permanencia, en función de la edad gestacional, en los a os inicial, intermedio y final del período 1989-1997. Del análisis efectuado se concluyó, que el progreso experimentado en la sobrevivencia fetal, aunque positivo, fue muy modesto. Igualmente, se identificaron algunos diferenciales importantes en la sobrevivencia fetal, mediante atributos como la edad de la embarazada, la historia previa de embarazos (acumulado de partos, abortos, nacidos muertos) y el peso del producto de la concepción The present paper approaches the study of pregnancy as a process of change of states with three basic stages: entry, permanence and exit.
