Análisis del tratamiento quirúrgico de 53 pacientes con fisura palatina

Se expone una revisión de 53 pacientes con fisura del paladar de distintos tipos atendidos en el Servicio de Cirugía Máxilo Facial del Hospital General Provincial Docente "Carlos Manuel de Céspedes" de Bayamo, Cuba. Para obtener el restablecimiento de la función estomatológica y psicología del ni o, se mencionan la frecuencia y las técnicas quirúrgicas utilizadas en el servicio. Los resultados funcionales y estéticos fueron evaluados por un cirujano que no participó en la operación, el foniatra y el ortodoncista. Fueron catalogados de Bueno en el 88,7 % de los casos, el 9,4 y el 1,9 % fueron considerados como Regulares y Malos respectivamente, se discuten los resultados y se comparan con la literatura médica nacional y extranjera. A review of 53 patients with cleft palate of different types that were treated at the Maxillofacila Surgery Service of the "Carlos Manuel de Céspedes" Provincial General and Teaching Hospital, in Bayamo, Cuba, is exposed. The frequence and surgical techniques used to reestablish the stomatological and psychological functions of the child are mentioned here. The functional and aesthetic results were evaluated by a surgeon that did not take part in the operation, a speech Therapist and orthodonthist. 88.7 % of the cases were considered as good, whereas 9.4 and 1.9 % were estimated as fairly good and bad, respectively. The results are discussed and compared with the national and international medical literature.
