stiklal Sava na Do ru Milli Bilincin Do u u ///Born of National Awareness to the War of IndependenceKeywords: National Struggle , Occupation , Damat Ferit Pasha , Nureddin Pasha , National Forces , Mondros Abstract: After Ottoman Empire was defeated in the First World War, faced with the danger of losing their independence and lands, Turkish people started a national struggle for independence under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal, despite the poverty and lack of money. One of the most important issue must be considered here is how a nation whose army was demobilized, capital was occupied and financial-emotional resources exhausted, could rised. Which events did let this rise? Due to the the attitudes of non-Muslims and allies and occupations in Anatolia, Turkish Nation took action against all of Entente Powers. On the other hand the attitutes of stanbul Goverment and deposition of the administrators supported the national struggle in Anatolia were other important factors that motivated Turkish Nation. Eventually Mustafa Kemal and his friends took action considering the nation's will and determination for being an independent coutry. The article that was stated in Amasya Circular as “the independence of nations could only be provided by the nation's will and determination” is another sign of this situation.
