The adaptation of gendarmerie system, which was first established in France, was different in AustriaHungary and the Ottoman Empire because of the way this system was adapted in these two empires. While the gendarmerie system came to Austria-Hungary Empire through the French invasion, the Ottoman Empire voluntarily adapted it. The cause of this adaptation was different in these two empires but they both needed it.
