Konsum und Arch ologie: Zur Anwendung von Theorien der Konsumforschung in der Historischen Arch ologie (Consumption and Archaeology: The Application of Theories of Consumer Research in Historical Archaeology)Keywords: Consumption Research , Historical Archaeology , Konsumforschung , Objektbiografie Abstract: Consumer culture offers a variety of terms, continuously developed since the 1990s, which are appropriate for a use in historical archaeology. The processual consideration of objects, and therefore also of goods, is applied by Anglo-American cultural anthropology. This method allows an exploration of traded things and of the exchange process motivated by a culture theory point of view. In consequence, different directions of consumer research emerged. For historical archaeology, the research of history of consumption forms a basis for further exploration of archaeological sources. The integration of results concerning the change of consumption, conspicuous consumption or spaces of consumption in issues and evaluation methods will lead to new approaches and results.
