Oclusión de la arteria cerebral media secundaria al consumo de anticonceptivos orales Occlusion of the middle cerebral artery secondary to the consumption of oral contraceptives

Se presentó una mujer joven migra osa y consumidora de anticonceptivos orales durante un período de 4 a os, a la cual se le atendió un infarto cerebral isquémico por oclusión de la arteria cerebral media derecha, con importante repercusión en la función motora del hemicuerpo izquierdo. Se buscaron causas no habituales de isquemia cerebral en el adulto joven, pero fueron descartadas, por ello se estableció una relación etiológica con los factores de riesgo mencionados inicialmente. A young woman with migraine who consumed oral contraceptives during a period of 4 years and suffered from an ischemic stroke due to an occlusion of the right middle cerebral artery with important repercussion on the motor function of the left hemibody was presented. Uncommon causes of brain ischemia in the young adult were searched, but they were discarded, and that's why an etiological relation to the above mentioned risk factors was established.
