El citoesqueleto de actina: una perspectiva desde la biología molecular del cáncer

Se realizó una síntesis de los temas que emergen en la actualidad sobre la estructura y organización del citoesqueleto de actina y las vías de se alización que participan en su regulación. La información bibliográfica consultada se ha tratado de ofrecer con un enfoque funcional, sin obviar los mecanismos moleculares involucrados. Se incluye, además, un peque o apartado sobre la participación de las proteínas Rho en el proceso de transformación maligna, a partir del hecho conocido de que en el fenotipo transformado tumorigénico se pueden apreciar cambios morfológicos que involucran al citoesqueleto de actina. A synthesis of the topics that nowadays deal with the structure and organization of the actin cytoskeleton and with the ways of signaling taking part in its regulation is made. The reviewed bibliographic information has been provided through a functional approach, without excluding the molecular mechanisms that are involved. It is also included a brief section on the participation of Rho proteins in the process of malignant transformation, starting from the known fact that the morphological changes involving the actin cytoskeleton may be appreciated in the transformed tumorigenic phenotype.
